Once again recorded exclusively with 2 guitars, bass and drums, the always overwhelming compositions follow their own, above all always surprising logic, which charges the arrangements with hypnotic ambient cascades, unpredictable tempo changes between sludge and post-rock and cathartically powerful outbursts that turn the new album into a self-confident, delicately crafted statement; the 15-minute opener "Solfatara" alone is a tour de force of monolithic, heavy, smouldering beauty.
