With The Ocean Pours In, Partholón deliver a cathartic journey that push at the edges of post-sludge metal. The Munster-based band move between dense, riff-driven heaviness and stark, open passages, using contrast and pacing to create an atmosphere that feels both immediate and expansive.

Written over a period of upheaval and reflection, the album draws on the band’s connection to local history and myth. It recounts the Mary Russell tragedy while also evoking the mythical legend of Partholón, weaving these narratives into five expansive tracks that move between fragile atmosphere and unrelenting intensity.
